Subject Title
Textiles III

Subject Description
Textiles II is a continuation of Textiles I. In Textiles II the students will analyze various manufactured fibers with reference to care and suitability, and end use. Fabric construction and finishes are studied to determine appearance and performance. This course engages students in hands-on projects where they will practice applied and structural design techniques. The impact of contemporary, innovative and environment textiles will also be examined.

Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

4. Experiment with material and fibre properties;

5. Produce basic weave structures;

6. Explain other methods of fabric construction;

7. Discuss contemporary textile innovation.
