Subject Title
International Procurement Systems

Subject Description
Technology and globalization have drastically changed sourcing and procurement for any products and services. This course focuses on how and where to search out product, service and component sources on a global basis. Major topics covered include preparation techniques, pricing/costing, timing, tracking stock deliveries and inventories, and procurement for international organizations. Students will use SAP and understand its role in sourcing and procurement.

One credit.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

  1. Investigate and describe the role and planning of Global Supply Chain Networks.
  2. Analyze and apply the internal and external environment for purchasing.
  3. Apply the correct INCO terms, and trade documents to International purchasing situations.
  4. Calculate Total Cost of Ownership for simple international purchases.
  5. Apply SAP's procurement process to a variety of situations using direct, RFQ and contract processes.
