Subject Title
Machine Shop

Subject Description
This subject will give each student the opportunity to build a tool of his or her design.  Each student will use the skills and knowledge gained in SHP101 and SHP201 to assist them in building and tool proving their work.  Students will work independently and in groups to produce production tools.

Credit Status
Full credit status towards a college program

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Write sequentially all the planning procedures required to machine a production tool.

2. Select appropriate cutting tool to machine ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

3. Set-up and operate conventional machine tools.

4. Produce individual component parts.

5. Assemble component parts to build a die or mould.
