Creativity and New Media

Subject Description
This subject is an introduction to methodologies and practical techniques for developing and expressing creative ideas in the field of New Media.

The emphasis of the subject is on providing students with the opportunity to practice and explore an assortment of techniques which will assist them to develop and present their own creative concepts employing a variety of media.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

  1. Apply creativity techniques and methodologies demonstrated in class to their own creative concepts.
  2. Demonstrate a proficiency in fully developing creativity concept workbook/journals, and substantiating and rationalizing their workbook’s/journal’s concept’s to the class.
  3. Select two or more of the creativity techniques covered in class, and combine them in the development of a media-based project.
  4. Assess and critique creative works in terms of intention and material realization.
