Subject Title

Subject Description
This subject is designed to enhance the student's camera and field skills to the High End Broadcast level. Emphasis is placed on a practical understanding of  the High Definition camera. Through complete theoretical and technical instruction, in-class demonstrations, and practical assignments, students will advance their skills in shooting and lighting to a level of scene manipulation and motivation that is present in today's Television and Film industry.

Pre-requisites: RTV 300 and RTV 500.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Understand the principles of shooting using Professional High Definition cameras
2. Apply these principles to the professional broadcast and production industry.
3. Be able to technically and creative operate and manipulate a broadcast High Definition camera.
1. Navigate through and set menus in order to properly set up a camera for the shooting environment.
2. Understand the “paint” setting for visual manipulation.
3. Employ a light methodology that enhances the high definition recording.
4. Understand the effect of different lenses and filters on the picture.

5. Develop a creative ability to operate and control the movement of the camera in a production environment.

6. Understanding the role of the Director of Photography (DOP).
