Subject Title
Applied Retail Store Operations

Subject Description
This is a capstone subject that provides students with firsthand experience in operating a small fashion retail enterprise.  It is intended to develop the critical thinking and problem solving skills needed for leadership roles.  As team members working towards strategic goals, students will grow their interpersonal skills.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to carry out duties and responsibilities of a given role in a fashion retail enterprise;
  2. Practice working in a team in ways that show respect for working relationships and achievement of strategic goals;
  3. Communicate and respond to written, spoken and visual messages in a timely manner with team members and faculty;
  4. Participate actively in team meetings to improve the team's performance;
  5. Apply principles of exceptional customer service to learn how contributions of employees improve sales productivity and customer satisfaction in retail establishments;
  6. Use a POS system;
  7. Participate in store events and physical inventory count.
