Subject Title
Portfolio Presentation and Professionalism

Subject Description
Students will learn the proper procedure for presenting their portfolio, how to conduct themselves during the interview process and how to use successful job search techniques.The student will also learn the art and science of freelancing, from finance management to finding the contracts. The student will create basic accounting documents, resume, and interview questions. The student will also explore the business of films. Some topics may include: the current ways independent productions in Canada are currently funded, the process of "making a pitch" to production companies, distributore and broadcasters, the post production of effects from assessing, budgeting and managing effectively. Each student will pick one area, research it and present to the class, either themselves for through a guest speaker.

Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to compose a resume.
  • Create a digital portfolio of their work.
  • Understand and express their employable skills during and interview.
