Subject Description
The focus of OPR112 will be on the various duties, responsibilities, and procedures required of an administrative assistant in today's automated business or professional office. It is a combined theory and practical applications course which covers interpersonal communications, business communications, human relations skills as well as practical business skills. This subject is part of the core program.

Credit Status
OPR112 is a required credit in all Office Administration programs.

1.   List the attributes required for success as an administrative professional in a changing work environment
2.   Apply effective communication techniques to a variety of businees situations
3.  Manage the scheduling, coordination and organization of administrative tasks and workflow within an office 
4.  File financial, employee, and client records using electronic and paper management systems
5.  Define the processes to provide support within the workplace related to the use, maintenance and procurement of office equipment and technologies
6.  Discuss the elements of professional conduct that are required of an administrative professional by relevant legislative and ethical standards
7.  Explain strategies to be used to adjust to unforeseen circumstances, changing priorities and timelines
