Italian Language Skills 1

Subject Description
This course is designed to develop the student's oral communication and listening skills. The language is taught through the use of integrated, thematic units that stress and reinforce the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at a basic level of fluency.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1.use language for a variety of purposes and in a variety of contexts;

2.use language to think and learn in a variety of curriculum areas;

3.use language to make sense of one's own experiences and to share experiences with others;

4.use the conventions of language appropriately for the purpose, audience, and context;

5.develop collaborative and independent thinking and learning strategies;

6.create practical and imaginative works in a variety of media, both as individuals and as members of a group.
