Customs Process III

Subject Description
The course integrates the detailed instruction provided in the first two semesters with a more comprehensive study of legislation governing valuation, warehousing, non-tariff barriers and the completion of relevant documentation.

Credit Status
Credit for International Transportation and Customs Diploma Programs (TCA and TCS).

Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Apply the rules of origin and appropriate Tariff Treatments (GPT and LDCT).

2. Identify additional procedures for when and how refunds of duties and taxes may be claimed.

3. Apply programs such as the Inward Processing and Warehousing.

4. Apply valuation legislation and administration.

5. Recognize the Marking Act and its application in International Trade.

6. Prepare the required documentation and apply procedures in respect to temporary importations.

7. Comprehension of Anti-Dumping/Countervailing duties and TRQ's.

8. Evaluate the assessment of monetary penalties and enforcement actions.

9. Analyze export control procedures.

10. Comprehend the function of the World Trade Organization.
