Subject Description

ICO155 is an introduction to computers that will set students in SEMET up for success in their time at Seneca College.  Students will be introduced to many of the skills and software platforms needed to excel in computer and electronics-related courses.  Students will also be given the tools and resources available at Seneca College to set them up for a success in their program and beyond. 

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate basic functions of a computer using PC-based hardware and software. 

  1. 1.Identify the social and ethical issues that come with being a “power user” of technology. 

  1. 2.Create documents using word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software 

  1. 3.Create a basic website to demonstrate HTML authoring. 

  1. 4.Use cloud-based collaboration software to streamline productivity. 

  1. 5.Modify photos and video for use in websites, documents and presentations. 

  1. 6.Compose a multi-layered video for online sharing
