Graphic Design II

Subject Description
With an emphasis on editorial design, type, illustration and photography are combined in this subject to solve design communication problems. The student draws on all the tools available to assist in solving the industry-based problems presented.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Apply the rules of visual composition to typographic construction for appropriate visual response.
2. Develop a variety of grid systems from typeface and format configurations.
3. Utilize a systems approach to create thematic continuity throughout the visual design solution.
4. Combine type with a variety of visual elements such as photographs, illustrations, charts, and graphs rules and borders to create a balanced communication solution within a systematic construction.
5. Produce professional solutions to visual design problems within industry time and budgetary constraints.
6. Prepare and deliver presentations for critique.
