Window Installation I

Subject Description
In this subject, technical and design skills are developed to a higher level of professionalism. The added dimension of lighting is put into practice in windows to dramatize displays and put lighting concepts into reality.
The technical skills are then used in various professional applications.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate and maintain a high degree of professionalism (e.g. time management, organizational skills, communication skills, planning, costing, scheduling) when working with the industry and individual clients;
  2. Design, coordinate and install windows to industry standards within a given time period;
  3. Demonstrate the ability to light presentations to dramatic effect;
  4. Calculate the cost of design and installing windows and showcases;
  5. Demonstrate skills in covering, cutting, painting, drawing, and prop making as it relates to window display and installations;
  6. Create and install theme-related special events.
