Your Career Launch

Subject Description
This new subject is where the final process of the student's career planning and networking becomes reality. Through direct industry field placement or independent projects, the student becomes part of a company as an active apprentice on-the-job. Students become part of an advertising team - utilizing their academic skills and developing new professional interpersonal and teamwork proficiency. Important feedback is provided by active members of the advertising profession to help the student further scrutinize the potential roles they might play within the industry. This subject is designed to meet the needs of both students who are pursuing Internships and those who are in need or direction for a future career launch.

Credit Status
Must successfully complete course requirements for graduation.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the successful methods of job networking.
  2. Demonstrate how to successfully conduct an employment interview.
  3. Know how to use “Personal Marketing” materials for presentation.
  4. Organize and develop ideas into a framework for interviews. Successfully complete an internship as prescribed by the Creative Advertising Program.
  5. Deliver a successful final analysis of your internship experience.
  6. Be an active participant contributing effectively to the assigned tasks and the process of group work within in-class and/or workshop exercises for evaluation.  
  7. Understand the purpose of, and effectively meet all deadlines and project requirements.
