Subject Title
Promoting Basic Life Skills - Children with Autism

Subject Description
Approaches to self-care strategies that encourage success. What to avoid with a focus on insight and and judgment to assist children in developing mastery of self-care in the areas of feeding, toilet training, grooming and dressing. Learn many unique strategies!

Credit Status
At the conclusion of the Workshop, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject the student will be able to:

1. Understand methods used to teach life skills to preschool children with autism.
2. Understand reinforcement, opportunity based learning, sensory dysfunction, use of voice and communication techniques.
3. Examine therapeutic choices for preschool children with ASD.
4. Learn and practice how to teach basic skills in the areas of grooming, toileting, feeding and dressing,
