TESL Practicum Supervisor and Academic Coordinator

Reporting to the Chair, Community Services, Seneca College, together with a Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all aspects of the TESL Observations and Practicum process for the TESL Program. The incumbent is also responsible for answering student inquiries and managing the Information Session for potential TESL students

Policing and Forensics Program Specialist

Reporting to the Academic Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing and implementing of all aspects of the Police Foundations diploma and Forensic Investigative Studies Certificate. The incumbent is also responsible for answering student inquiries for the Investigative Science and Police Studies Certificate.

You bring

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in policing, law enforcement, and/or forensic science.
  • A diploma or degree credential in a related field.
  • A demonstrated passion for life-long learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly developed organization skills.
  • The ability to interact effectively with the College's multi-cultural/racial/able staff, students and the public.
  • Demonstrated time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Initiative, creativity and flexibility.
  • Computer literacy, including competency in MS Office suite; experience with PeopleSoft an asset.
  • Access to a vehicle to travel to other campuses as necessary.

Minimum qualifications: M.A.in English or related writing-centred discipline; 5+ years teaching experience at a post-secondary level. TESL Certificate an asset.

ENGLISH LITERATURE
Minimum qualifications: M.A. English Literature ? Ph.D. preferred; 5+ years teaching experience at a post-secondary level.

Home Inspection and Building Code

Seneca College is recruiting instructors with experience in the field of Home Inspection and the Ontario Building code to teach part-time or online courses. Interested applicants must be available to teach evenings and/or weekends.

Priority will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Recent work experience
  • A broad understanding of careers in the field
  • Membership in the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors
  • Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing BCIN certification
  • Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment or equivalent.
